The SS202 Safety Supply protects your bench and everything on it just like the SS201 Safety Supply. But, in addition, with the flip of the Current/ Power/Ohms switch, the SS202 becomes a complete, fully automatic AC current leakage tester. Product internal ground resistance, open neutral, safety ground and exposed metal AC leakage currents are measured automatically to the new 1993 AAMI ES1 medical safety test standards. The SS202 also tests the AC line for safety ground to neutral AC voltage and safety ground to earth resistance to comply with the 1993 NFPA 99 AC line safety standards.
You¿ll know in seconds whether you caused excessive leakage when you made the last repair so you can correct it then and there. Likewise, you¿ll know whether the repaired equipment will be safe when returned to the caregiver; providing a complete safety test after repair, as mandated by JCAHO for accreditation.
If you discover that you have excessive AC leakage, simply convert the SS202 to a Safety Analyzer by switching the auto toggled AC line and safety ground switches to manual. This will enable you to use the SS202 as an AC leak age analyzer to quickly identify the exact leakage paths and thus isolate and correct the leakage problem. Special circuitry enables you to read the AC current leakage of the product under repair and not the isolation transformer leakage, which you will do with the other external isolation transformers.
